Ingredients
- Fish (Tangra mach) – 700 gms
- Onion, chopped – 2 medium size
- Tomato, chopped – 1 large size
- Green chillies – 4 to 5
- Poppy seeds paste – 1 tsp
- Mustard paste – 2 tsp
- Nigella seeds (kalo jeera) – 1/3 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 2 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Mustard oil – as required
Wash the fish and marinate with salt and turmeric powder.
Heat oil a pan/ kadai. Fry the both side of the fishes carefully and take it out.In the remaining oil, add kalo jeera. Add chopped onion and fry it till golden brown. Add tomatoes and green chillies. Cook it for another 2 mins. Add the poppy seeds paste, mustard paste and some warm water. Add salt and turmeric powder. Mix it well. Add the fried fishes to it and cook it for 10 mins. When the gravy becomes dry add 1 tsp of mustard oil and serve hot with steamed rice.
