Blog doesn't mean we have to write only unique or interesting recipe. But we should update our blog with daily routines. And that will be more catchy I guess. So today's recipe is very simple and common, its better to say it as a platter of our daily life which contains rice, dal, aloo makha/sedho, bhajis. Everyday, I am in hurry to sort out my household jobs before going to office. I feel like Chachi 420... hahaha! And whenever I have to go office early this the best meal to prepare I think. And I am quite sure you will agree😜
- Rice - 1 glass
- Musoor dal - 1/2 cup
- Potatoes - 3
- Pumpkins - 100 gm
- Parwal or potol - 4
- Bhetki fish fillet - 2
- Egg - 1
- Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
- Onion, chopped - 1
- Onion, sliced - 1 large size
- Green chilli - 7 to 8
- Dry red chilli - 2
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - a pinch
- Mustard oil - as required
Rice -
Wash the rice and soaked it into water for 30 mins. In sauce pan, boil water. Add a little salt. Add the soaked rice into it. Bring it to boil. Once the rice is fully cooked, add chilled water. Now pour the water completely. Rice is ready.
Musoor Dal -
Wash the lentils gently. Boil water, add some salt. Add the dal to it. Add green chillies and the chopped onions. Cut two potatoes into medium pcs and add it to the dal. Let it boil till it completely cooked. Add 1 tsp mustard oil and serve.
Bhajis -
Cut the potatoes in round shape but a little thicker than chips. Cut the parwal into halves (vertically). Cut the pumpkins in medium thin slices. Wash and drain the water completely. Sprinkle some turmeric powder, salt and just a pinch of sugar.
Heat oil. Fry the vegetables one by one and serve.
Regular Fish Fry -
Marinate the fish fillet with lemon juice and a little salt. To make the batter, take 1 tsp besan, 1 tsp all purpose flour or maida, 1 green chilli chopped, 1/2 tsp finely chopped onion and one egg. Add a little water and make a fine smooth batter. Heat oil, dip the fish fillet into the batter and fry both sides. Once it is done, take it out and serve hot.
Aloo Makha-
In a pan, heat mustard oil. Add 2 dry red chilli or you can add more as per taste. Once it turns crispy, add the sliced onion and and two green chilli. Fry till golden brown. Take the boiled potato in a bowl. Mash it. Add the fried onions along some mustard oil. Add salt and mix it. Alu makha is ready to serve.
