Ingredients
- Chicken, on bone - 800 gms
- Onion, sliced - 2 medium size
- Ginger- garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Tomato, chopped - 1 large size
- Green chillies, chopped - 4 to 5
- Chilli vinegar - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp
- Green chilli paste - 1 tsp
- Bay leaf - 1
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1tsp
- Coriander leaves, chopped - 1/2 cup
- Honey - 1tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Mustard oil - as required
Method
Take the chicken pieces in a bowl. Add chilli vinegar, pepper powder and green chilli paste. Mix well and keep it aside for 30 mins.
Heat oil in a pan/kadai. Add bay leaf. Add sliced onion and fry it till golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry it for another 2 mins. Add the chopped tomatoes and green chillies. Cook it for 3to 4mins. Add the marinated chicken. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and honey. Cover the lid. Cook it in medium low flame until the chicken becomes nicely soft. Stir well in between. Don't add water to it. When the chicken is almost done, add garam masala powder and chopped coriander leaves. Cook it for another 5mins. Serve hot with basmati rice / tawa roti.
