MOUROLA MACHER CHORCHORI (MOUROLA FISH CURRY)



Ingredients
  • Mourola Mach (fish) - 300 gm
  • Potato, sliced - 1 large size
  • Onion, sliced - 1 medium size
  • Green chillies - 3 to 4
  • Tomato, chopped - 1 small size
  • Black cumin - 1/3 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tsp
  • Oil - as required
  • Salt - to taste


Method

Take the fishes in a bowl and marinate with salt & turmeric powder.
Heat oil in a pan/ kadai. Fry the fishes and keep it aside. In the remaining oil, add cumin seeds. Add the potatoes and fry for 2 to 3 mins. Add the sliced onion, tomatoes and green chillies. Fry it till golden brown. Add salt and turmeric powder. Add cumin & coriander powder, pepper powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder. Add some warm water and stir well. When the masala leaves oil, add the fried fishes and the chopped coriander leaves. Add a little more water (warm). Cook it in medium high flame. Once the gravy becomes thick and the potatoes are cooked, serve hot with basmati rice.
