Ingredients
- Chicken, on bone - 750 gms
- Lemon juice - 2tsp
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp
- Dry red chilli - 2
- Onion, sliced - 2 big size
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1tsp
- Tomato, chopped - 1 large size
- Coriander powder - 1tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Kasuri methi - 1/2 tsp
- Honey - 1tsp
- Spinach & coriander leave paste - 1cup
- Green chilli paste - 1tsp
- Butter - as required
- Salt - to taste
** you can use oil instead of butter
Method
Take the chicken pieces in a bowl. Add lemon juice and pepper powder. Keep it for 30mins.
First make the chutney. Heat one tsp butter in a pan. Add ginger garlic paste. Fry it for 3 to 4 mins. Add spinach & coriander leave paste. Add 1 tsp honey, 1/2 tsp salt. Stir well. Add green chilli paste. Cook it until it becomes thick. Now the chutney is ready.
Heat butter in pan / kadai. Add dry red chilli. Add the sliced onion and fry it till golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes. Fry it for another 2mins. Add the chicken pieces to it. Add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Mix well. Cook it till the chicken are almost done. Add the premade green chutney and cook it for another 10mins. Now in a pan heat one tsp butter and add kasuri methi. Pour it to the chicken gravy. Mix well. Now the palak chicken is ready to serve. Enjoy it with peas pulao / naan.
