Ingredients
- Basmati rice, soaked in water - 1 cup
- Green peas - 1/2 cup
- Dry red chilli - 1
- Bay leaf - 1
- Green cardamom - 2 to 3
- Cinnamon stick - 1, 1/2 inch long
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Ghee - as required
- Sugar - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Method
Take a heavy bottom pan. Heat 2 tsp ghee. Add dry red chilli, bay leaf, cinnamon stick & green cardamom. When it leaves a nice smell, add the green peas to it. Fry it for 3 to 4 mins. Add the rice and fry it for an another minute. Add 1/2 cup milk and 1 & 1/2 cup warm water. Add salt & sugar. Cook it with covered lid in medium high flame. In between stir well. When rice is cooked and it becomes completely dry, add 1 tsp ghee. Mix well. Serve hot with any non-veg / veg curry.
