Ingredients
- Scallion (Peyajkoli), cut into 1 inch long - 1 cup
- Egg, boiled - 4
- Green chillies - 3 to 4
- Tomatoes, chopped - 1 large size
- Black cumin - a pinch
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Poppy seeds paste - 2 tsp
- Mustard oil - as required
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - to taste
Method
Heat oil in pan/kadai. Fry the boiled egg and keep aside. In the remaining oil, add black cumin seeds. Add the scallion and tomatoes. Fry it. Add turmeric powder, salt and sugar. Mix well. Add cumin powder, coriander powder and some warm water. Cook it till the masala leaves oil. Add poppy seeds paste. Add the fried eggs and some more warm water. Cook it with covered lid till the gravy becomes dry. Serve hot with basmati rice.
