CHILLI EGG


Ingredients
  • Boiled eggs, cut into half pieces - 3
  • Corn flour - 5 tsp
  • All purpose flour - 2 tsp
  • Ginger powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Chopped ginger- 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Egg white - 1
  • Capsicum, cut into cube pcs - 1/3 cup
  • Onion, cut into cube pcs - 1/3 cup
  • Green chillies, sliced - 3 to 4
  • Chilli sauce - 1 tsp
  • Tomato sauce - 1 tsp
  • Soya sauce - 1 tsp
  • Chilli vinegar - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste 
  • honey - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - as required 



Method

In a mixing bowl, take 3 tsp corn flour, 2 tsp all purpose flour, ginger powder, red chilli powder, egg white. Add water to make a thick batter. Add the boiled egg pieces and mix well coating with the batter.Heat oil in pan/ wok for deep fry. Make sure that oil is hot enough. Now fry the coated eggs. Drain the pieces and keep aside.

Now heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add chopped ginger and green chillies. Sauté for a few seconds. Add onion and capsicum. Fry it for 2 mins. Add pepper powder, vinegar, soya sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce, honey and salt. Add a little water. Bring it to boil. Now mix 1 tsp corn flour in water and add it to the sauce/ gravy. When it begins to thicken, turn off the heat. Remember, make this sauce in high flame. Don't overcook, let the onion and capsicum be a little crunchy. Add the fried eggs. Mix well. Enjoy with noodles / fried rice.
