Ingredients
- Chicken, on bone - 750 gm
- Soya sauce - 3 tsp
- Honey - 3 to 4 tsp
- Lemon juice - 2 tsp
- Dry red chilli - 1
- Black cardamom - 2
- Ginger - garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Onion, chopped - 2 large size
- Tomato puree - 1/2 cup
- Green chillies - 4 to 5
- Cumin- coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Oil- as required
Method
In a mixing bowl, take the chicken pieces. Add soya sauce, honey and lemon juice. Mix well. Keep the marinated chicken for at least 3 to 4 hrs ( the marination is the most important part of this recipe as it gives the soya honey flavour to the dish).
Heat oil in pan / wok. Add red chilli & black cardamom. Add chopped onion, salt and fry till golden brown. Add the ginger garlic paste. Fry for another 2 mins. Add the tomato puree and green chillies. Cook it for 3 to 4mins. Add cumin-coriander powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, garam masala powder. Cook it for a few mins. Add the marinated chicken to it. Cook it in medium low flame with covered lid till the chicken becomes soft. In between stir well. No need to add extra water. Serve hot with pulao/ naan.
