Ingredients
- Green jackfruit (ichor), cut into cube pcs - 1 medium size, boiled
- Potatoes, cubed - 1 large size
- Prawns, medium size, fried - 10 to 12 (or as wish)
- Onion, chopped - 1 large size
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Tomatoes, chopped - 1 large size
- Green chillies - 3 to 4
- Dry red chilli - 1
- Bay leaf - 1
- Cumin seeds - 1/3 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Mace & nutmeg powder - 1 tsp
- Ghee - 2 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - to taste
- Mustard oil - as required
Method
Heat oil in pan/wok. Add potatoes & fry till half cooked with some turmeric powder and salt. Take it out and keep aside. Fry the boiled ichor for 2 to 3 mins and take it out. In the remaining oil, add cumin seeds, bay leaf and dry red chilli. Sauté for a few sec. Add chopped onion. Fry till golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste, fry for two mins. Add chopped tomatoes, sugar and salt. Cook for another few mins. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, cumin & coriander powder, mace & nutmeg powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder and some warm water. Add the fried prawns, potatoes & ichor to it. Cook it till the masala leaves oil. Add ghee and garam masala powder. Cook for a while. Add some more warm water. Cover the lid and cook till the gravy becomes thick. Serve hot with rice.
