Eggs are incredibly nutritious as well as yummilicious. Eggs are considered to be one of the best sources of protein available. Around 9 percent of an egg's content is fat, found almost exclusively in the yolk. Eggs are pretty much the perfect food, they contain a little bit of almost every nutrient we need. It contains all the daily vitamins and minerals that are needed to produce energy in all the cells of the body. A healthy immune system: Vitamin A, vitamin B-12, and selenium are key to keeping the immune system healthy.
Very few of us don't like eggs. It is easy to make, healthy to bite. I have already shared many egg recipes like Egg Malai Curry, Rajshahi Egg Curry, Bhapa Dim etc. Among various egg recipes, Boiled Eggs in Spicy Indian Masala is one of my most favourite.
Ingredients
- Boiled eggs, cut into 4pcs - 4
- Cinnamon stick - 1/2inch long
- Dry red chilli - 1
- Onion paste - 2 tsp
- Ginger -garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Tomato puree - 1/3 cup
- Green chillies, chopped - 4
- Turmeric powder - 1/3 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
- Nutmeg-mace powder - 1/3 tsp
- Cashew nut paste - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - to taste
- Oil - as required
Method
Heat oil in a pan. Add dry red chilli and cinnamon stick. Sauté for a min. Add ginger garlic paste. Fry it. Add onion paste, salt-sugar and fry till the color change to golden brown. It takes around 5 mins. Now add the tomato puree. Mix well. Add turmeric powder, cumin & coriander powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, nutmeg -mace powder and garam masala powder. Add a little water (warm). Cook it till the masala leaves the pan. Add some more water and cashew nut paste. Stir well. When the gravy becomes nice and thick, switch off the flame. Place the boiled egg pieces into a serving bowl. Pour the gravy onto it. Serve hot with rice or roti.
