VEG FRIED RICE OR VEGETABLE FRIED RICE


Veg Fried Rice or Vegetable Fried Rice is a style of rice dish where rice is fried well along with vegetables in some chinese sauces. Very simple yet delicious Veg Fried Rice is one of the most popular recipe from Indo-Chinese cuisine. The taste of it may vary. Here I have made less spicy along with some green chillies. But if you like more spicy then you can add chilli sauce and red chilli powder. No need to worry if you have some leftover rice in refrigerator, turn this to a tasty rice by tossing with some veggies of your choice and some sauces. Lets get the recipe - 


Ingredients
  • Basmati rice, cooked - 3 cups
  • French beans, finely chopped - 8 to 10
  • Carrots, finely chopped - 1 medium size 
  • Green peas, boiled - 3 to 4 tsp
  • Capsicum, finely chopped - 1 small size 
  • Cabbage, finely chopped - 1/4th
  • Spring onions, chopped - 2 to 3 tsp
  • Onion, chopped - 1 medium size
  • Garlic, chopped - 1 tsp
  • Light soya sauce - 1/2 tsp
  • White vinegar - 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sugar - a pinch
  • Oil - as required

Method

First, make sure that the whole cooking must be done in high flame. For making this, heat a large size wok. Add oil. First, add the garlic and then onion. Sauté for a sec. Add the chopped carrots, french beans, cabbage, green peas, capsicum and a little bit of chopped spring onions. Add some salt and soya sauce. Give it a nice mix. Add a pinch of sugar and 1 tsp vinegar. Now add the cooked rice and pepper powder. Toss carefully. Don't try to stir/ mix with a spoon for a long time as it breaks the rice. Garnish with some spring onion and serve hot.
