Onion Pakoda or Onion Bhajji is one of the most popular evening snacks to anyone I guess. It is easy to make, yummy to take. Onion Pakoda is also a very simple yet tasty recipe for beginners. This deep fried batter snacks can be enjoyed with a cup of tea. From the age 5 to 60, everyone like to have this crispy snacks. Onion Bhajji can make your monsoon evening more interesting. Even nothing can beat this bhajji's popularity when you have a cup of tea or coffee in your hand in winter.
Ingredients
- Onion, thinly sliced - 2 cups
- Green chillies, chopped - 2 tsp
- Rice flour - 2 tsp
- Besan - 1 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/3 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - as required
Method
In a mixing bowl, take the sliced onion. Add green chillies, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, rice flour and besan. Mix well. Add some water. Give it a nice mix. Make a medium thick batter of this mixture for a crispy bhajji.
Now put a wok on the flame. Heat oil for deep fry. Add 2 tsp hot oil to the onion mixture. Mix it. Put the flame in medium. Add small small amount of mixture to the oil. Fry till golden brown. Turn and fry. Serve hot as evening snacks. Enjoy with a cup of hot tea.
